Position Summary
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Financial Systems Manager to lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and long-term management of the organization’s ERP and financial systems landscape.
This role will initially focus on assessing organizational requirements, evaluating ERP platforms such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, and similar solutions, and leading the full ERP implementation lifecycle. Following implementation, the Financial Systems Manager will own ongoing optimization, administration, governance, and team leadership for the Financial Systems function.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial systems expertise with project leadership capabilities, operational process knowledge, and the ability to build and scale a high-performing financial systems team over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation and selection process for a new ERP and financial systems platform, including requirements gathering, vendor assessments, demos, and recommendations.
- Manage the end-to-end ERP implementation process including project planning, configuration, testing, data migration, integrations, training, and go-live support.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Finance, IT, Operations, external consultants, and software vendors.
- Analyze and redesign financial and operational workflows to align with best practices and organizational scalability.
- Oversee system administration, configuration, reporting, security, and ongoing optimization of the ERP environment.
- Support global accounting operations including budgeting, grants management, multi-entity consolidations, currency considerations, and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities to improve organizational visibility and decision-making.
- Establish governance standards, documentation, controls, and processes for financial systems management.
- Build and lead the Financial Systems function over time, including hiring, mentoring, and managing future team members.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for financial systems issues and enhancement requests.
- Partner with leadership to define long-term financial systems strategy and roadmap initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in financial systems, ERP administration, ERP implementation, or related finance technology roles.
- Experience leading or heavily contributing to ERP selection and implementation projects.
- Strong knowledge of ERP platforms such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar systems.
- Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, grants management, and multi-entity/global operations is highly preferred.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects involving Finance, IT, and external vendors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a highly hands-on environment.
- Experience developing reporting, dashboards, and financial process improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
