Technology manager - Distribution

Our client supports a nationwide network that supplies everyday consumables to workplaces, retail environments, and entertainment venues across the United States.

Role Overview:

This role leads the alignment of technology capabilities with operational needs across a distributed logistics and field network. The position serves as the primary liaison between business unit leadership and IT, ensuring priorities are clearly defined, properly sequenced, and delivered in a way that balances operational demands with enterprise standards. You will be accountable for system performance, support outcomes, financial stewardship, and delivery execution across platforms that enable warehouse and field operations. This role also functions as a senior escalation point for complex issues and works closely with cross-functional technology teams to ensure consistent and reliable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary technology partner to site-level and regional operational leadership
• Translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives and priorities
• Manage intake and sequencing of requests, balancing urgency, risk, capacity, and enterprise alignment

Technology Environment:

• Warehouse and inventory management applications
• Relational database systems and backend development (SQL-based)
• Enterprise resource planning and transportation/logistics solutions
• Carrier integration, labeling, scanning, and automation technologies
• Data exchange and integration platforms
• Agile tooling and collaboration platforms supporting DevOps workflows

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5 years leading technology delivery in a business-facing role
• Proven experience managing Agile teams and delivery cycles
• Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and contract oversight
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting logistics, distribution, or field-based operations
• Prior people leadership experience
• Hands-on familiarity with warehouse, ERP, transportation and  scanning technologies
• Experience operating across multiple locations or regions
• Understanding of modern delivery and support practices aligned with DevOps principles

Salary : $115,000 - $150,000
