Human Resource Manager - Murfreesboro, Tennessee (On-site)

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations, employee relations, labor relations, and recruiting initiatives at its Murfreesboro facility. This is a highly visible leadership role supporting plant employees, transportation drivers, and remote sales staff while partnering closely with operations leadership and corporate teams.
The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing HR experience, union labor relations exposure, and a hands-on leadership style focused on employee engagement, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR contact for plant employees, remote sales staff, and transportation drivers
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance and safety support to employees and leadership teams
- Partner with Corporate VP of EHS on safety strategy and regulatory compliance
- Support union grievance investigations and resolution processes in collaboration with BCTGM representatives
- Participate in labor contract negotiations and administer collective bargaining agreements
- Lead and manage the company’s performance evaluation process
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and benefits documentation
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly positions including onboarding and pre-employment screening
- Maintain and oversee the applicant tracking system
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and support plant performance goals
- Administer FMLA, attendance tracking, and leave management programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years of union labor relations experience strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
- Experience managing workplace safety and compliance programs
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity
- Self-motivated with a collaborative, hands-on approach
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
