What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer - Machining / Manufacturing position at Systematic Business Consulting?
Stable and growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their growing team! This role orders raw materials, products, and supplies for the organization, vendor negotiation, creating purchase orders and requisitions, and materials logistics. Interacts with management, supervisors, employees, vendors, suppliers, and other group affiliates.
Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities with a focus on performance, change control, quality, cost and schedule management.
- Support increasingly complex procurement/subcontract management duties.
- Work with internal approvers and reviewers for confirming specifications, budget and Terms and Conditions of purchases.
- Source for potential Suppliers for competitive bidding.
- Prepare and manage bidding activities such as Requests for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ) Negotiate pricing and delivery/shipping terms with potential Suppliers.
- Issue Purchase Orders or other forms of agreements to Suppliers.
- Will seek to continuously improve company’s position and identify component savings opportunities Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics Identify opportunities for process improvements and procurement systems development
- Conduct analysis and present finding to key internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors degree, preferred
- 3 years of purchasing/ buying experience. Required
- ERP experience Required. Epicor Preferred
- Microsoft Office platform, excel, word, power point. Required
- Technical purchasing experience (machined parts, castings, fabrication, MRO, raw materials) . Preferred
