Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients across the lifespan, from birth to elderly.
- Collaborate with Health Aides to maintain stocked exam rooms and completed checklists.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining medical supplies.
- Screen patient calls and support mid-levels in the clinic after hours as needed.
- Apply culturally sensitive and age-specific practices in all aspects of patient care.
- Utilize appropriate medical equipment and office systems (phones, computers, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and ability to work with psychiatric patients.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Current Alaska LPN license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BCLS certification (BLS required).
- IV Certification course (preferred).
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (preferred).
- New graduates accepted.
- Preferred: 1 year hospital experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work in a patient care setting with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with psychiatric patient care.
- Proficiency with standard office and medical equipment.
