S3, Inc. is seeking a Project Leader to support the PEO Aviation team on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
This position is contingent on award of contract.
The Project Leader is responsible for the comprehensive life cycle management of the Army’s utility helicopter (UH) fleet. The UHPO manages multiple phases of acquisition, development, production, modification, recapitalization, sustainment, and foreign military sales for the UH 60 Black Hawk Helicopter. In addition, the UHPO is responsible for the acquisition and management of the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH). The UH 60 Black Hawk mission is to protect and sustain the force by providing air assault, general support, command and control, and aero-medical evacuation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise, inputs, and recommendations to the UHPO Technical Management Division (TMD) and to assigned Product Manager (PdM), Product Director (PdD), and Assistant Project Manager (APM) offices.
- Deliver subject matter expertise across major aircraft systems and subsystems including airframe, avionics, survivability, flight controls, aeromechanics, and propulsion systems.
- Support the development of system derivative program documentation such as acquisition strategies, draft Statements of Work (SOWs), technical data packages, specifications, requests for proposals (RFPs), engineering cost estimates, and program plans/reports.
- Provide Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) expertise within rotary wing aviation programs.
- Coordinate across stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are met and aligned with program objectives.
- Work independently to plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage assigned areas of responsibility, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders in both verbal and written formats.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Acquisition, Business, Management, Engineering, or Science with a minimum of 12 years in Acquisitions and Sustainment programs.
- Strong knowledge of the H-60 and/or UH-72 Lakota fleets.
- Direct experience supporting PEO Aviation and/or UHPO core systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of rotary wing technical requirements and supporting processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in MBSE and MOSA applications within Army Aviation programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other standard business/technical tools.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance required.
- Previous experience working directly with UHPO, PdM, PdD, or APM offices.
- Advanced technical degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field.
- Knowledge of acquisition lifecycle processes and DoD program documentation development.
