Database Engineering Associate / Engineer – Production Services

We're looking for a Database Engineer who brings a strong blend of database expertise and systems engineering skills. This is not a traditional DBA role—we need someone who understands how databases interact with applications, infrastructure, and distributed systems to deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and scalability.
In this role, you'll work directly with developers, researchers, and platform engineers to support data-intensive applications in a high-performance, low-latency trading environment.
What You'll Do
✅ Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale database platforms, including MariaDB, MongoDB, InfluxDB, and ClickHouse
✅ Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and schema design
✅ Build Python-based automation and tooling to streamline operational workflows and improve system reliability
✅ Architect and support high-availability solutions, including replication, failover, and disaster recovery
✅ Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in real time with a calm, ownership-driven approach
✅ Manage and scale containerized database workloads in Kubernetes, including ClickHouse deployments
✅ Monitor platform health and proactively address performance bottlenecks using observability tools
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or technology field
- 1–5 years of experience in Database Engineering, Systems Engineering, SRE, or a related discipline
- Strong SQL expertise and deep knowledge of relational database technologies
- Strong MariaDB, MongoDB, InfluxDB, and ClickHouse experience
- Experience with indexing, partitioning, replication, query optimization, and high-availability architectures
- Strong Python development skills with the ability to build production-quality tools and automation
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting
- Strong Linux fundamentals and command-line proficiency
- Experience operating in production environments where uptime and reliability are critical
- Familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools and workflows
