OBJECTIVE: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure their optimal performance and functionality. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions to determine the root cause of problems.
Repairs and Replacements:
- Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools.
- Order and install replacement parts as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate major repairs or installations.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure regular inspections and upkeep.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
Facility Maintenance:
- Monitor and address issues related to the overall facility, such as lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Identify and address safety hazards in the workplace.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.
- Provide reports and updates to supervisors on a regular basis.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and relevant departments.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
Training and Development:
- Stay informed about advancements in maintenance techniques and technologies.
- Provide training to other staff members on equipment use and basic maintenance tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications for OSHA-10, electrical, or vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
- 3 years’ experience in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair in a mfg. environment
- Experienced with safety and LOTO (lock out/tag out) protocol
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver License and insurable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
