Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer 2
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Type: 3 year Contract
Compensation: $58.00 per hour
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Hours: 40.0 per week
Responsibilities
- Provide structural engineering services and field support
- Conduct preparation of designs and calculations
- Conduct site walk downs of construction sites
- Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs
- Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
- Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
Requirements
- 20 years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor’s & master’s degree in engineering and professional engineering license
- Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
- Significant structural steel connection design experience
- Proficiency with structural codes and standards
- Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
- Proficiency with OSHA regulations
- Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects
- Able to perform structural inspections and provide written reports
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors
