Role Description

Job Summary

The SR Structural Engineer position requires 30 years of heavy industrial/power plant experience or an accredited bachelor’s & master’s degree in engineering and professional engineering license.

Job responsibilities

• Providing structural engineering services and field support
• Conducting the preparation of designs and calculations
• Conducting site walk-downs of construction sites
• Developing cost estimates and material takeoffs
• Providing schedule and staffing input for projects
• Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.

Skillsets and expertise required

• Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
• Significant structural steel connection design experience
• Proficiency with structural codes and standards
• Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
• Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
• Proficiency with OSHA regulations
• Able to coordinate and manage multiple large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects
• Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
• Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
