System One is seeking an experienced Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer to support one of our key clients in the power and energy sector. This position is available as either a contract or direct hire opportunity.
In this role, you will perform piping stress analyses, prepare engineering specifications, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on projects involving upgrades and modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant systems for leading energy providers.
Responsibilities:

Design and analyze modifications to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.

Perform pipe stress calculations and develop design recommendations, isometrics, specifications, and design change packages.

Lead design engineering efforts within a multidisciplinary project team.

Provide technical support for field execution, including outage and turnaround projects.

Support constructability planning, proposals, and estimate development.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

2–5 years of piping/mechanical design experience with a focus on pipe stress analysis in nuclear, oil & gas, or similar industries.

Proficiency in AutoPIPE, GTSTRUDL, and Mathcad required.

Experience with AutoCAD, Laser Scanning, and related engineering software preferred.

Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred.

Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills for interfacing with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (no current or future sponsorship required).
