Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Hybrid (onsite remote) — Columbia, MD (21044)
Type: 12-month contract-to-hire (W2)
Pay rate: $46/hr
Overview
We’re hiring a Financial Analyst to support a busy finance/accounting team with reporting, analysis, reconciliations, and month-end activities. You’ll work closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners to ensure accurate results, strong controls, and clear insights for decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial/accounting data to support business decisions
- Prepare accounting and financial reports; verify data accuracy and investigate variances
- Research and resolve account reconciliation issues to strengthen controls across the general ledger and balance sheet
- Perform moderately complex analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights
- Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
- Respond to audit requests and questions from finance leadership and internal partners
- Support special projects and create summaries/presentations for management as needed
What we’re looking for
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent technical training)
- If you don’t have a bachelor’s degree: additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
- 3 years of accounting/financial experience
- Understanding of GAAP, STAT, and applicable federal regulations
- Comfortable working in financial systems and analysis tools
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred / Nice to have:
- CPA-eligible (preferred)
- Healthcare insurance industry experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience with Oracle Financials
- Oracle Essbase (a plus)
