Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk

Job Title: Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerk
Location: Princeton, NJ
Hours: 8am - 5pm, Mon-Fri onsite (1 day remote / hours may fluctuate due to business need)
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $33 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities
The AP/Payroll Clerk is responsible for performing clerical and accounting tasks related to accounts payable and payroll functions. This role ensures accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee payroll, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. 

• Payroll 
  • Verify employee timesheets and payroll data. 
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including deductions and benefits. 
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and respond to employee inquiries. 
• Accounts Payable 
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and purchase orders. 
  • Match invoices to packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy. 
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure timely payments. 
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing and audits. 
• General 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and financial information. 
  • Assist with special projects and audits as needed. 
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and vendors. 

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business strongly preferred. 
• Experience: 1–3 years in accounts payable and payroll processing. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software (Great Plains, Paylocity or similar). 
• Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
