Job Description

Human Development & Family Science seeks a part-time instructor to teach MFT 643 (3 credits) Family Therapy with Complex Trauma during the Summer 2026 semester. Saturdays May 16, 30, June 6, 13, 20. Time: 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM. Explores the effects of trauma on child development and family functioning and introduces the use of family therapy for the treatment of complex trauma. Learn to develop treatment intervention strategies in a systemic framework.

Qualifications

  • MA or PhD, and previous teaching experience. LMFT or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and/or updating class syllabus
  • Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments
  • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
  • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course
  • Meeting all designated class periods
  • Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
  • Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations
  • Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty
