Job Description

The Associate AD Operations and Administration for the Men’s Basketball Program serves as a leader and trusted advisor to the Head Coach, overseeing day to day operations and ensuring alignment across all areas of the program with institutional and NCAA standards. This role leads and develops key staff while driving strategic planning and cross functional coordination to enhance both organizational effectiveness and competitive success. The Associate AD Ops/Administration also supports external engagement efforts, including alumni and donor relations, helping position the program for sustained success in a rapidly evolving Division I athletics landscape.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, higher education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or a related environment, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in program administration, operations management, and staff leadership.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Division I athletics operations, including NCAA rules, compliance.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive program priorities.
  • Expertise in organizational leadership, program management, and cross functional coordination.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and people management abilities, including mentoring staff and building high performing teams.
  • High level organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and decision making in a fast paced, high visibility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight of all administrative and operational functions, establishing systems, priorities, and structures that drive efficiency, consistency, and alignment with departmental and institutional goals.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with athletics leadership and university stakeholders to enhance overall program effectiveness.
  • Identify and lead key initiatives that position the program for competitive and organizational success in a rapidly evolving collegiate landscape.
  • Provide strategic oversight of alumni, donor, and stakeholder engagement efforts in partnership with athletics development and external relations.
  • Ensure the Men’s Basketball programs adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
