Job Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working and reliable individual to join our team as a Truck Washer & Detailer in our Syracuse, NY, location.
Syracuse Haulers is a full-line waste removal company locally owned and operated who is dedicated and designed to build successful partnerships using our superior customer service. As a Truck Washer & Detailer, you will be required to work in our fast-paced Wash Bay department to maintain the cleanliness of the trucks efficiently and effectively, including but not limited to; cabs, chassis, bodies and containers utilizing hand brushes, cleaning solutions and a pressure-washing system. You will also maintain the cleanliness of commercial-grade wheeled trash and recycling carts and assist the Wash Bay Manager in keeping the work area in clean, organized and safe working order.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow safe operating practices, protocols and rules
- Pressure wash truck bodies, cabs and containers
- Perform thorough cleaning of vehicles
- Move vehicles safely from the yard to the Wash Bay and back to parking spots
- Understand and report any safety related issues to the supervisor
- Maintain a cleaning schedule on vehicles and containers with the guidance of the supervisor
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, grip, feel and perform repetitive motions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay and equipment
Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for cleanliness.
- Experience in car washing or detailing work
- Experience moving large trucks
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Have a basic understanding of OSHA Lock-Out and Tag-Out program and all OSHA Fire protection regulations
- Ability to read, understand and follow standard operating & all safety procedures
- Ability to courteously interact with co-workers and supervision
- Ability to work in extreme cold or heat
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
