As Accounting Manager, you will own the day-to-day accounting and reporting for pension, insurance, and benefit plan activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will streamline processes, support audits, and provide clear financial insight to leadership. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly accounting close activities related to pensions, insurance, and benefit plans, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, reconciliations, and schedules.
- Lead process improvement initiatives within the accounting function, identifying efficiencies and implementing enhanced controls.
- Coordinate and serve as the primary contact for external auditors, preparing audit support and responding to audit requests.
- Oversee the documentation of accounting procedures and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to explain financial results and support decision-making with clear, concise analysis.
- Monitor and resolve accounting issues, discrepancies, and variances related to benefit and insurance accounts.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in public accounting with a strong grounding in GAAP and audit practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading accounting processes, including month-end close and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify process improvements.
- Comfortable working with pension, insurance, and benefit plan accounting or similar complex financial areas.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with auditors and internal stakeholders.
