Role Description The Veterinary Technician/Assistant at SynergyVet is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC. This position supports veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care by assisting with exams, handling and restraining animals safely, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining clean, organized clinical spaces. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering prescribed treatments under supervision, assisting with diagnostics and procedures, and supporting anesthetic monitoring as appropriate to training and credentials. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about pet care instructions, preventive health, and treatment plans, while documenting medical information accurately in practice systems. The Veterinary Technician/Assistant collaborates closely with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow, excellent client service, and a supportive, respectful environment for colleagues and patients.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, restraint, and monitoring of patients across a variety of species.
  • Foundational knowledge of Veterinary Technology, such as assisting with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and medical record keeping.
  • Ability to provide clear, compassionate Client Education regarding preventive care, treatment plans, and at-home instructions.
  • Experience or training in Anesthesiology support, including preparation, basic monitoring, and recovery assistance under veterinary supervision.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician) or completion of an accredited veterinary technology program preferred; veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting is also highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to animal welfare, ethical practice, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive workplace for colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, and flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
