We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager - Government IT Sales to lead our efforts in securing and expanding government contracts for IT solutions and services. This role is ideal for a sales professional with a strong understanding of the public sector procurement process and a proven ability to build relationships within federal, state, and local government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new IT contract opportunities within government agencies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and IT managers across public sector organizations.
- Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs in coordination with technical and proposal teams.
- Stay informed of government contracting regulations, procurement schedules, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, compliance) to ensure proposals and bids meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets related to government contracts.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in B2G (Business-to-Government) sales, preferably in the IT industry.
- Strong knowledge of the government procurement process, including GSA schedules and other contracting vehicles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage complex sales cycles.
- Experience with CRM software and proposal management tools is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field preferred.
- Previous Experience in working model of 8(A) certified companies would be a plus
Preferred:
- Existing network of government contacts or prior experience working with federal or state agencies.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements such as NIST, FedRAMP, or CMMC.
