What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant - Litigation Support position at Synergy Staffing Services, LLC?
One of Kansas City's top law firms is looking to add an experienced Legal Assistant to give support to attorneys in multiple practice areas. This position will be responsible for daily case reporting, e-filing, data entry, and expense management.
Prior experience in Civil Litigation is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities will include:
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- File documents with state, federal, or appellate courts in compliance with local rules
- Calculate, track, and maintain attorney court calendars, hearing dates, depositions, and statutory filing deadlines.
- Organize, sort, and maintain physical and electronic case files, manage e-discovery databases, and help prepare deposition or trial exhibits.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, witnesses, court clerks, and opposing counsel.
- Track time records, manage monthly billing processes, and handle scheduling.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience.
- Litigation experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Word, Outlook, and CaseNet.
- Outstanding communication - written and verbal - including excellent spelling and grammar.
