What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Manager position at Synergy Senior Care?
Synergy Senior Care is a growing Nursing Home Management company based in Skokie, Illinois. We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our team. The AP Manager is responsible to ensure timely payment and posting of invoiced services for multiple long term care campuses in Wisconsin.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain understanding of vendor invoicing and payment process.
- Maintain full awareness of activity related to accounts payable and vendor invoicing.
- Establish and maintain timely payment schedules and vendor relations.
- Provide training, support, and oversight of our Accounts Payable functions to designated facility administrative staff.
- Participate in monthly AP reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Prepare, review, and post journal ledger entries, where necessary.
- Reviews all invoices for authorized and approval for payments.
- Fulfill all purchasing requests per order specifications, obtaining approval when necessary.
- Conduct pricing/cost research of equipment/assets requested to fulfill purchases.
- Maintain cost-awareness while fulfilling requests purchasing.
- Ensure all invoices are appropriately coded and approved for payments.
- Develop relationships with Directors and Managers for approving invoices.
- Work with Senior Accountant or CEO for approval of all accounts payable check runs
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Update banking ledgers to reflect all payables transactions.
- Consistently provide quality service in an efficient and effective manner, meeting all applicable regulatory licensure and accrediting regulations.
- Assess program and departmental spending and work to reduce costs.
- May be required to perform some administrative operational tasks/projects.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or similar areas of study.
- Minimum, 3 years of nursing home accounting experience, preferred.
- Experience with Point Click Care a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced functional knowledge of MS Excel is required - Power Query proficiency, a plus
