As a Homecare and Infusion Payment Application Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for the integrity of our accounts receivable. You won’t just be "entering data"—you will be researching, auditing, and reconciling all cash receipts to ensure every penny is accounted for.
Key Responsibilities for a Homecare and Infusion Payment Application Specialist
- Cash Application: Apply all cash receipts, recoupments, and provider level adjustments (PLBs) to AR accounts with precision.
- Complex Reconciliations: Interpret Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and process payments and denials using correct remittance codes.
- Problem Solving: Conduct in-depth research to resolve balancing issues, NSF payments, and unidentified clearing account funds.
- Process Improvement: Identify trends in payer compliance or contractual calculation errors and escalate them to improve overall workflow.
- Mentorship: Act as a SME to train team members, document internal processes, and participate in workflow testing.
Qualifications for a Homecare and Infusion Payment Application Specialist
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in payment posting/applications (5 years preferred).
- System Expertise: Direct experience with Brightree is highly preferred. Candidates with relatable Homecare payment posting experience and a strong background in Commercial payors will also be considered.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Note: Proof of diploma or transcripts will be required upon hire).
- Technical Skills: Ability to navigate internal balancing tools and system-generated reports to reconcile variances.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong auditing skills and the ability to transfer non-patient payments to the correct general ledger accounts.
