We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support monthly close, financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting within a dynamic, multi-entity environment. This role requires strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of how business operations impact financial results.
The position will focus on operational accounting, including real estate-related expenses, lease accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger support, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and recurring entries
- Perform detailed account analysis and financial reporting
- Support month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Real Estate & Lease Accounting
- Account for operating expenses related to facilities, including rent, common area maintenance (CAM), and real estate taxes
- Manage lease accounting, including lease liabilities and expense recognition
- Generate monthly rent expense from real estate systems
Fixed Assets & Prepaids
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
- Reconcile fixed asset balances and support capital expenditure tracking
- Manage prepaid assets (insurance, maintenance contracts, supplies) and amortization schedules
Operational Expense Accounting
- Analyze and record expenses related to maintenance, repairs, fuel usage, and vehicle operations
- Monitor and reconcile company credit card activity
- Ensure proper classification and tracking of operational expenditures
Reconciliations & Analysis
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Perform P&L variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
- Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
Audit & Compliance
- Support interim and year-end audit processes
- Assist with financial statement preparation for lenders and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
Systems & Collaboration
- Work within a large ERP environment, supporting system updates and process improvements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial representation of business activities
- Proactively communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-business unit environments preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS, including accruals and prepaid amortization
- Experience with real estate and lease accounting concepts highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis/reporting tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
