LOCATION: This position may travel to our neighboring offices to offer assistance for a limited number of weeks throughout the year.
POSITION SUMMARY: A Relationship Banker provides services to existing and potential customers. This position primarily supports the loan function of the branch while also supporting the customer service function.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primarily Support the Loan Function of the Branch by: Assist loan officers and loan assistants with servicing loan files which includes:
- Shares accountability with the lender for the full loan process which includes:
- Inputs loan applications into Laser Pro.
- Assigns the loan to the Loan Processor for document printing.
- Processes denied loan packages and loan renewals within established regulatory timeframe.
- This position does not accept mortgage loan applications or perform tasks on behalf of the lender. (Including this statement means the Relationship Banker will not require an NMLS. As a floater and assistant to the lender and primary Loan Assistant, this person still may not have enough involvement in the process to fully function on behalf of the lender.)
- Must retain extensive knowledge of bank products and services to serve the customer effectively.
- Maintain a high level of company and customer confidentiality.
- Utilizes the loan checklist to properly track the status of the loan.
- Prepares loan packages for closing by ensuring that all approvals, credit memos, and insurance are in place prior to closing while ensuring all loan documents are accurate and in order.
- Prepares tickets, distributes loan proceeds, closes the loan folder according to established procedures, and submits it to the loan department for booking and final review.
- Other specific tasks within the same scope as assigned by the lender.
- Accountability for the full loan process.
Support the Customer Service Function of the Branch by:
- Work efficiently with coworkers to meet customers’ needs and reach shared goals of branch.
- Open new accounts and perform maintenance to existing accounts with accuracy.
- Process wire transfer requests.
- Assists in safe deposit box customer entry.
- Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.
- Cross-sell bank products and services that meet our customers’ needs.
- Assist in answering telephones for customer inquiries.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Two or more years of banking experience
- Business degree from a technical school and/or college
- Knowledge of NuPoint, New Account Console, Card@Once, IMM, and Chexsystems
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge in Microsoft programs Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Proficient at operating a computer, typing/word processing, ten key number pad, printer, fax machine, and copier.
- May require successful registration with, and issuance of a unique identification number from, the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act).
- The interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor through the day.
- Must possess superior organizational skills, communication skills and capable of making good judgments.
- Must have a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Ability to travel to designated Synergy Bank locations as needed.
- Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written format.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular attendance is required. Must be available for a full-time schedule (40 Hours) Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use of hands and fingers to feel or handle equipment and files; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have the attention span to stay alert and attentive during a normal 8-hour workday.
- The Relationship Banker must be able to make sound, quick decisions based on the facts of a situation, and remain calm and in control in a possible ever-changing environment or an emergency.
- Must be able to follow instructions and procedures exactly as trained or as directed by his or her supervisor.
- Must be able to listen to, grasp, and respond positively to supervision and instructions by Management.
- Ability to safeguard and maintain confidential information as directed by Federal law and Company policy.
