What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Compounding Pharmacy Technician position at Synergis Pharmacy?
We are looking for an energetic and dependable Pharmacy Technician who will serve as a group leader of compounding technicians during daily compounding operations. You will serve as a trainer and evaluator of competency for compounding staff. As a group leader and recognized trainer/evaluator, you will assist Supervising Pharmacists ensure compliance with USP 795, 800 (and other applicable chapters) and to compound medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.
You Will
- Lead a team of compounding technicians and/or support staff in performing compounding activities in compliance with USP 795 and 800 and site SOPs.
- You will help to ensure team members follow safety and environment monitoring and control procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and that appropriate PPE is worn while executing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- You will serve as an Assigned Trainer and competency evaluator for new hire and ongoing compounding and support staff in USP 795 and 800 required core skills, knowledge, and required competencies such as Garbing and Hand Hygiene, Aseptic Technique, and suite cleaning assessments.
- Compound medications.
- Assist with compounding equipment calibration and ensure appropriate use of equipment during daily compounding operations.
- Perform the formulation of the compounds and aseptic filling of the solutions
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOP’s.
- Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 795 and 800.
- Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC), Technicians, and/or Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacist for personnel, quality, compliance and regulatory matters.
- Communicate with Compounding Pharmacists or Compounding Techs to report on issues in the compounding suite.
- Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
- Completes training as required by Synergis Pharmacy, USP 795 and 800 (and related chapters).

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
