Summary - Northern US Salesperson
The Regional Northern US Sales Manager is completely familiar with all company products, services and policies.
The annual Regional Sales quota is met or exceeded in the specific territory. A competent Manufacturers Representative sales force is established.
Responsible for the sales of all company products and services and is representative for the company within an assigned territory, maintaining contacts with established customers and developing new prospects for the purposes of selling all company products.
Job Duties :
To identify genuine selling opportunities for all company products, influence the buying decisions of sales prospects, assist in the quotation process and follow all quoted events to their conclusion.
Manages the Manufacturer Representative organization providing training and direction to their personnel in pursuance of company interests by replacing ineffective representation with highly motivated productive organizations.
Seeks out and develops original equipment manufacturers for all company products.
Meets the prescribed sales objectives
Employee will adhere to all company ISO 9001 procedures and standards.
Promotes the sale of all company products through direct customer contact and with the aid of Manufacturer Representatives in the assigned territory.
Maintains contact with customers in relation to their SCADA requirements and influences specifications to promote equipment. Ensures that customer specifications are received by home office well in advance of bid opening date.
Keeps home office aware of any special requirements of customers that are not clearly identified in specifications. Attends bid openings.
Makes services and products available to all customers in assigned territory. Responsible for follow-up in securing and closing sales orders.
Refers complaints to proper departments within the home office.
Keeps informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers. Suggests new products and services that are wanted in the customer field.
Keeps abreast of competitors activities in assigned region and informs home office.
Supervises and trains Manufacturer Reps to see that they cover their assigned territories and acquire the maximum sales for the company.
Advises Director of Sales & Marketing of sales problems encountered and of the performance of the Manufacturer Reps in territory. Suggest possible solutions to problems.
Prepares weekly and monthly reports as required by home office.
Submits Expense Reports in a timely fashion; i.e. weekly or monthly at the latest.
Travels as required to achieve sales goals in territory.
Attends quarterly Sales Meetings.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION : BSEE and / or Technical Degree
EXPERIENCE : 5 yrs. experience in selling high technology products in the utility industry and specific knowledge in the areas of electric utilities, SCADA systems, instrumentation and control.
