Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Software Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java, SQL/PostgreSQL, REST/SOAP web services and AWS cloud, and will contribute to the development and maintenance of a high-performance, multi-model software application. This system demands millisecond-level response times and 24x7x365 availability, making reliability and optimization key aspects of the role.

Essential job duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based web applications.

• Build, document, and support REST APIs.

• Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and functions using PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL.

• Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability to meet stringent functional and performance requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and bottlenecks.

• Maintain high standards of code quality and participate in code reviews.

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments to AWS environments.

• Deploy and operate services in AWS (including GovCloud).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5–7 years of professional experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in Java and SQL (preferably PostgreSQL).

• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and SOAP Web Services; familiarity with JSON and XML.

• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud and EC2 Linux/UNIX environments.

• Knowledge of JBoss application servers and related deployment/configuration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Exposure to government or defense-related software projects.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security scanning tools.
