Description We are seeking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our sample management team. Responsible for maintaining high level of integrity for the biologics research samples (proteins and cell lines), including but not limited to sample check-in, fulfilling requests, maintenance, and proper handling of samples. Working closely with the supervisor and staff members.Receive and check-in incoming biological sample shipments; distribute the samples and cell lines to the requesters as needed or store in onsite inventoryMaintain inventory for biological samples in LIMS database and/or spreadsheetsFulfill dispersal requests in a timely mannerUtilize sterile techniques to handle samples during re-aliquoting and vial labeling/transferThaw, expand, bank cell lines (BSL-1, BSL-2) and quality control of cell line banksSubmit and send out cell line samples for testing for Discovery departmentsMaintain traceability of all biological materials and associated data setsPerform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and replenish consumablesReport lab and inventory issues to supervisor or appropriate partyQualificationsBS/MS or equivalent degree in biological sciences with at least 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting either in an academia or industryStrong multi-tasking abilities to work in a fast-paced, customer focused, dynamic team environmentExperience in working with automated storage systems and operating/programming various liquid handlers to facilitate sample processing is preferredExperience with inventory/request database systems for biological sample management is highly desirableCompetent oral and written communication skillsSelf-motivated, deadline conscious, high degree of organization skill and attention to details; able to adapt to changing priorities and circumstancesAbility to work in research labs and process biological samples is a strong plusProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPointAbility to multi-task and handle culturing of at least 12 cell lines at a timeAseptic & Sterility TechniquesPrefer Liquid handling-Tecan & Software management software/Freezer ProBenefits:Healthcare Insurance: Synectics offers eligible employees and their dependents healthcare coverage through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois.
