Key Responsibilities

- Payroll Administration
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including timecard review, payroll adjustments, and data entry.
- Maintain employee payroll records and compensation information in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, multi-state payroll processing, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
- Prepare certified payroll reports and payroll-related documentation to satisfy prevailing wage and compliance requirements.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and confidentiality of employee information.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance.
- Support month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with routine accounting functions and special projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a combined payroll/accounting role.
- Basic understanding of payroll processes, accounting principles, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Experience utilizing payroll systems and accounting software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting requirements.
- Experience in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or related environment.
- Familiarity with payroll tax filings, garnishments, and employee benefit deductions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
