Key Responsibilities
- A litigation practice focused on insurance coverage and defense matters is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Glendale office.
- The role involves representing insurers in insurance defense and coverage litigation matters across California state and federal courts.
- The attorney will handle active litigation files from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and court appearances.
- Manage insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation matters from start to finish
- Draft pleadings, discovery responses, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Appear in California state courts and U.S. District Court for hearings and case management conferences
- Analyze insurance coverage issues and provide litigation strategy to carrier clients
- Handle discovery disputes and motion practice, including MSJs and demurrers
- Participate in mediations, settlement discussions, and case evaluations
- Maintain case timelines, reporting, and client communication
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active membership with the California State Bar (required)
- 2-6 years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and court rules
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
- Insurance defense or coverage litigation background
- Experience representing insurers, self-insured entities, or TPAs
- Familiarity with California Superior Courts and the Central District of California
- Exposure to trial preparation, arbitration, or mediation proceedings
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
