A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney
- As a civil litigation Associate Attorney, your role is dynamic and engaging, offering a mix of independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork. You will:
- Manage your own caseload from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while adhering to deadlines.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide case updates and interim status reports.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
- Work alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure effective case management.
What Matters Most
To succeed as an Associate Attorney, you will need the following qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Hampshire State Bar.
- At least 1 year of prior civil litigation experience.
- Experience practicing in both New Hampshire state and federal courts.
- Strong advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Experience responding to discovery requests.
- Experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
