Responsibilities
- Participate in various settlement negotiations
- Participate in arbitration and mediations
- Take and defend depositions
- Effectively develop litigation and claims strategies
- Advise clients on all litigation risks
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
- Utilize e-discovery software where applicable
- Argue motions and cases in state and federal courts
- Collaborate on matters with the Litigation team and senior partners as needed
- Assist and mentor more junior Attorneys
- Manage insurance defense matters, including first-party property claims, personal injury, premises liability, and professional liability
- 5–10 years of insurance defense litigation experience (coverage, bodily injury, property damage, etc.)
- Strong deposition, and trial preparation skills
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral presentation and advocacy abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and matters in a fast-paced environment
- New Hampshire Bar admission is required; admission in MA, ME, or VT is a plus
