- This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our high-performing urgent orthopedic care service line. Candidates must be licensed Physician Assistants.
- This position is full-time (40 hours per week), including the potential for minimal weekends and holidays.
- As Director, you will oversee all Injury Express (IE) locations and providers - driving operational excellence, enhancing patient experience, and leading a team of skilled Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and healthcare professionals across multiple sites.
- This is a hands-on role ideal for a leader passionate about innovation, quality improvement, and the advancement of orthopedic urgent care in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.
- Lead and manage the daily operations of Orthopaedic Injury Express Urgent Care centers across multiple Triangle locations
- Directly supervise and develop Injury Express APPs and clinical staff
- Evaluate and treat orthopedic urgent care patients with autonomy and clinical expertise
- Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize patient flow, quality of care, and operational efficiency
- Oversee scheduling, payroll, and performance management for IE staff
- Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and marketing teams to grow the Injury Express brand and service line
- Implement strategic plans to enhance profitability and expand access to orthopedic urgent care services
- Interpret radiographs
- Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold the highest standards of clinical and operational excellence
- Participate in leadership meetings, contributing to strategic decision-making across the organization
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning
- Orthopedic experience (minimum 5 years; 5-10 years strongly preferred)
- Completion of an accredited PA program
- Licensed as a PA in the state of North Carolina
- Board certification
- Active DEA license
- Demonstrated understanding of orthopedic and urgent care operations, clinical protocols, and business management principles
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and operational excellence
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
- Proficient in evaluating and working up complicated orthopedic patients
- Preferred:
- Prior management or supervisory experience
- Experience overseeing OrthoNC Injury Express (urgent care) or similar programs is a plus
