We're on a mission to scale one of the fastest-growing drive-thru coffee concepts in America - and we're looking for a Construction Manager who can turn our real estate pipeline into high-quality, on-time, on-budget Client stores.
This opportunity is with a rapidly expanding multi-unit quick-service restaurant platform developing locations across Michigan and New York. Our Impossible Goal: 200 locations by 2028 generating over $500M in revenue. Hitting that milestone requires a construction leader who can execute with precision, pace, and zero surprises - delivering Clients -standard stores at scale.
This is not a desk job. You'll be in the field, on job sites, managing contractors, enforcing schedules, and removing friction across the development cycle. You'll turn a signed LOI into a fully built, fully branded, fully operational Client location - reliably and repeatedly.

Ideal Candidate
- 5-10 years of experience in multi-unit retail, QSR, hospitality, or ground-up commercial construction
- Strong command of GC oversight, permitting, utilities, and development sequencing
- Demonstrated ability to deliver fast-paced, multi-market construction programs
- Obsessed with details, timelines, cost controls, and communication
- Comfortable working directly with founders and C-suite in a high-growth environment
- Thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and never waits for direction
- Brings solutions - not problems - with a bias toward action
- Manage all construction phases from pre-con walkthrough to final punch and handover
- Maintain disciplined project schedules with weekly RYG reporting
- Ensure 95% of stores open within the 10-month LOI? Open target
- Anticipate blockers 2-3 weeks ahead and surface solutions immediately
- Manage the $1.6M build-cost target while keeping variance under 5%
- Review general-contractor bids, negotiate value-engineering opportunities, and approve change orders
- Alert the CFO within 48 hours about any overruns exceeding $10,000
- Treat capital with utmost care - every dollar must serve a clear purpose
- Hold general contractors accountable for pace, quality, communication, and documentation
- Conduct weekly site walks with photos, detailed notes, and punch lists
- Score GC partners quarterly on cost, schedule, and quality performance
- Ensure all safety, permitting, and utility requirements are executed flawlessly
- Ensure every store passes Client's quality inspection before handover
- Maintain strict adherence to brand design, material specifications, and finish standards
- Deliver right-first-time openings with zero avoidable rework
- Maintain construction playbooks for MI and NY markets
- Own templates for schedules, RFIs, change orders, site reports, and GC evaluations
- Manage a single source of truth for construction tracking (Notion/Smartsheet)
- Build repeatable processes that allow Client to scale rapidly
- Work closely with Real Estate, Architecture, Ops, Finance, and the Executive team
- Deliver weekly updates with clear timelines, risks, and mitigation plans
- Ensure seamless handoff from LOI? Permitting? Construction? Opening
- 95% of stores delivered on schedule (=10 days deviation)
- 90-95% of builds within the $1.6M target
- Zero delays from preventable issues (utilities, inspections, coordination)
- Weekly documentation and communication executed without fail
- GC partners ranked and managed through performance scorecards
- Construction playbooks and tracking systems maintained and adopted
