What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at Clark Construction Company?
Build Schools That Shape Michigan's Future
Project Manager – K–12 Education
Why This Role Exists What You'll Lead
Clark is looking for a Project Manager ready to take ownership of K–12 construction projects across Southeast Michigan.
School construction demands more than technical skill. Buildings stay occupied. Summer schedules are compressed. Communities are watching. This role exists to ensure we deliver on the promises districts make to voters - safely, on time, and on budget.
You'll lead renovations, additions, and new construction projects while working closely with Senior Project Managers and Project Executives who provide mentorship and strategic oversight. You'll manage the day-to-day execution, direct Superintendents and Project Engineers, and build trusted relationships with district leadership.
Serving districts across Southeast Michigan - ideal candidates may live near Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Tecumseh, Jackson, Saline, or other surrounding areas.
What You'll Do
In year one, you're confidently managing active school projects and delivering on opening-day deadlines.
Within a few years, you're leading larger or multiple projects, earning district trust, and preparing for Senior PM responsibilities.
What You'll Bring
You'll have real ownership with real support. Senior leaders are accessible. Estimating and operations collaborate closely. And our self-perform division gives you flexibility when complexity rises.
You'll build schools that serve communities for decades.
Benefits Culture
Clark offers profit sharing, generous PTO, 401(k) matching, and comprehensive health coverage. We invest in professional development and are a Certified Veteran Friendly Employer.
We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. Different perspectives make us stronger.

Background Check Notice
All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. This may include verification of employment history, education, and professional references, as well as criminal background or driving record checks, as permitted by law.
Results of the background check will be considered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Michigan law (MCL 37.2205a), which prohibits employers from asking about or making hiring decisions based solely on certain criminal records. A prior conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment; each situation will be reviewed individually based on job-related factors.
