What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Synectics Inc.?
The Firm works with a variety of insurance carriers and interested candidates should be eager to learn/practice Civil Defense Litigation, specifically in Insurance Defense. The Firm is located in San Antonio, Texas and offers a hybrid schedule, but the candidate must be located in San Antonio. Experienced candidates should expect to hit the ground running ready to absorb their own docket of cases. Candidates must submit a resume to be considered for this position.

- Review new file assignments and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy
- Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions. Maintains contact at a minimum of 60 days
- Contact claims (initial litigation plan, recurring minimum 60 day contact, strategy conferences, etc.)
- Conduct all aspects of discovery, from written discovery to deposition of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses
- Perform due diligence; gather all relevant facts and documents; collaborate with Law Clerks, Paralegals and/or other Attorneys in due diligence
- Research and determine applicable and pertinent laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and other legal authority; identify legal issues
- Candidate must hold a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- At least 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or insurance defense. Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice throughout employment
- Must be in good standing with the State Bar and must have an active license to practice law in Texas
- Strong analytical and writing skills; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; passion for client service and practice development
