Our challenge

We are seeking a talented QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in Java, Selenium, Karate framework, and API testing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the quality and performance of our banking applications. Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $85k - $95k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Karate framework for web and API testing.
• Design, implement, and execute automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into test automation solutions.
• Perform API testing and validation using Karate framework, Postman, or similar tools.
• Identify, report, and track defects using defect tracking tools; work closely with developers for issue resolution.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing.
• Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks, ensuring robustness and scalability.
• Provide detailed test reports and documentation to stakeholders.
• Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in test automation and banking technologies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in QA automation, with proficiency in Java.
• Strong skills in Selenium WebDriver for UI automation.
• Hands-on experience with Karate framework for API testing.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services testing.
• Experience with test automation within a CI/CD environment.
• Familiarity with testing tools like JUnit, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Banking or financial services industry experience is a strong plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with other automation tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with SQL and database testing.
