Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe systems, including TSO/ISPF, NDM, CICS, JCL, and version control with GitHub. Knowledge of CA7 is a plus. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications to support business operations..

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/ Dallas, TX is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using JCL, CICS, and other relevant tools.
• Utilize TSO/ISPF for application development, debugging, and testing.
• Manage mainframe data transfers and exchanges using NDM.
• Automate and schedule batch jobs using CA7 (optional).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and adherence to best coding practices.
• Use GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe environment issues.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Mainframe environments and tools.
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, JCL, CICS, and NDM.
• Experience with CA7 Scheduling (optional but preferred).
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Preferred, but not required:

• Knowledge of additional mainframe tools and languages.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of modern DevOps practices in mainframe environments.
