Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Agentic AI Engineer to spearhead the development of autonomous, agentic AI systems. The ideal candidate will lead a team in designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI agents capable of complex decision-making, learning, and interaction in dynamic environments.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $55/hr - $65/hr & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of agentic AI systems capable of autonomous decision-making and action-taking.
- Architect scalable and robust AI solutions utilizing the latest in agent-based modeling, reinforcement learning, and natural language understanding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to define technical strategy and roadmaps.
- Drive innovation in AI to create systems that can adapt, learn, and operate independently in real-world scenarios.
- Establish best practices for developing, testing, and maintaining agentic AI models and systems.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to build technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in AI, especially in autonomous agents, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, and related fields.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and safety protocols in deploying autonomous systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in AI/ML with a strong focus on autonomous agents, reinforcement learning, or multi-agent systems.
- Extensive programming experience in Python, Java, or other relevant languages.
- Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI Gym, or similar.
- Strong understanding of decision-making algorithms, multi-agent coordination, and simulation environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization for deploying scalable AI systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred skills:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- Experience leading technical teams and managing complex AI projects.
- Publications or contributions to research in autonomous systems or agent-based AI.
- Knowledge of ethical AI development and safety standards.
