Our challenge

We are seeking a seasoned Risk & Governance Specialist to support enterprise infrastructure platforms by strengthening and maturing control frameworks across automation tools. This role will partner closely with platform owners and leadership to define, implement, and continuously improve governance standards in a highly regulated environment.

This is not a pure risk or InfoSec role—ideal candidates will bring a strong infrastructure and automation background, combined with hands-on experience in control implementation, remediation, and testing.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Chandler, AZ is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Define and establish “what good looks like” for control frameworks across infrastructure automation platforms
• Partner with platform owners (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to:
• Drive maturation and standardization of existing controls across platforms
• Lead control remediation efforts, ensuring practical and scalable implementation
• Execute ongoing control testing, validation, and reporting to leadership
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks covering:
• Establish measurement and reporting mechanisms to track control adherence and effectiveness
• Leverage industry best practices (particularly from large financial institutions) to enhance frameworks

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or related domains with a strong governance overlay
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation platforms and associated control frameworks
• Proven experience in control implementation, remediation, and testing
• Strong understanding of:
• Experience working in highly regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred)
• Ability to proactively define frameworks and standards rather than operate reactively
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred skills:

• Prior experience supporting or implementing governance frameworks in large financial institutions (e.g Large US banks)
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale control frameworks and audit processes
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance standards relevant to financial services
