Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Appian Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will act as a vital link between the business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that requirements are accurately captured, analyzed, and translated into effective Appian solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate the successful delivery of automation projects and process improvements.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway,NJ is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).
Responsibilities:
- Elicits and documents requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, task and workflow analysis.
- Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, and synthesizes findings.
- Proposes actionable solutions based on analysis.
- Serves as the conduit between the customer community and the development team through which requirements flow.
- Develops requirements specifications using standard templates (e.g., Jira epics and stories).
- Works with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyzes tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Liaises between business units, technology teams, and support teams as needed.
- Effectively applies fundamental concepts; works on assignments of moderate scope and complexity, with limited oversight.
- Makes recommendations for procedural changes and performs varied tasks requiring some originality or ingenuity.
- Assists in user acceptance testing (UAT) and documents testing results.
- Contributes to the continual improvement of processes and methodologies.
- Supports end-user training and provides post-implementation support.
- Keeps updated on Appian platform features and industry best practices to drive innovative solutions.
- Ensures compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, in a BPM or low-code platform environment.
- Jira experience is must
- Strong understanding of Appian platform and its components.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Up to 2 years of experience in testing and/or systems background.
- Thorough understanding of operational procedures and systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation.
- Programming and/or IT background
