The Biller for a busy orthopedic group specializing in workers' compensation is responsible for managing and processing billing and insurance claims. This role requires knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and medical billing procedures to ensure accurate and timely claim submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit workers' compensation claims
- Generate invoices and ensure accurate coding
- Maintain detailed records of claims and payments
- Follow up on claim statuses and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with patients about billing inquiries
- Stay updated on workers' compensation laws and billing regulations
- Collaborate with the medical team and insurance companies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing, preferably in an orthopedic or workers' compensation setting
- Proficient in medical billing software and EHR systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
