Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance to lead and manage complex IT initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of application development, integration, and transformation projects.
This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, project governance, and delivery management experience within insurance or financial services environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management activities for mid-sized to large IT initiatives.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and deliverables.
- Drive successful execution across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria.
- Work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, QA teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including project charters, schedules, budgets, communication plans, risk logs, and status reports.
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates to leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational governance, audit, security, and control requirements.
- Manage cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment.
- Coordinate project resources and funding requirements with leadership teams.
- Support initiatives involving application development, system integrations, data platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Project Management Experience
- 5 years of experience managing IT projects.
- Proven track record delivering application development, integration, and technology transformation projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
Insurance Domain Experience
- Experience working within Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance environments.
- Understanding of insurance business processes, operations, and technology ecosystems.
- Experience supporting insurance transformation, modernization, or digital initiatives is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience delivering projects using:
- Agile
- Waterfall
- Hybrid methodologies
- Experience with project management and portfolio management tools including:
- Microsoft Project
- Planview
- SharePoint
- Understanding of enterprise applications, integrations, and technology delivery frameworks.
