Your role
General Production Operator
The General Production Operator supports the manufacturing and packaging of quality fragrances, flavors, and related products by performing a variety of production, compounding, packaging, and cleaning tasks. This role follows established formulas, procedures, and safety standards to ensure customer requirements and company goals are met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the production and packaging of quality compounds, following established procedures and formulas according to good manufacturing practices.
- Compound production orders accurately and efficiently, following instructions and established formulas.
- Wash and clean tanks, pots, utensils, and production areas; operate floor scrubber daily.
- Package fragrance oils and other products into appropriate containers for shipment or storage.
- Operate automated dosing stations, raw material tank farm re-filling stations, and other production equipment.
- Handle ingredients, operate machines, mix and blend materials, and replenish automation storage containers as directed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all SOPs, safety, and housekeeping practices.
- Complete production paperwork, labeling, and documentation accurately, including pre/co-ship samples and HACCP procedures.
- Communicate status, inventory discrepancies, and equipment issues to supervisors or group leaders.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for operational excellence.
- Provide guidance and support to new and existing employees as needed.
- Perform work safely and efficiently, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following odor/dust environmental control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a warehousing, chemical, or flavor/fragrance production environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude to understand and operate filling and process equipment (including scales and CIP/COP equipment).
- Good math skills (solutions, addition, subtraction, percentages, metric conversions).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification; must be able to drive a forklift.
- Ability to lift up to 66lbs (30 kilos) repeatedly during a normal workday.
- Proficiency in English; good math and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated teamwork, good judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to cope with fast-paced, high-pressure work environments.
- Must work neat and clean.
