Data and Analytics Specialist

Under the direction of the Senior IT Analyst, develops and maintains a data repository to provide for the retrieval, analysis, and reporting of organizational data. Designs monitoring and auditing procedures to ensure data security and integrity. Using reporting platform tools, creates and distributes reports to meet the needs of the organization, and designs and creates dashboards and other analytical views as the data repository progresses. Provides support to staff using reporting tools or needing help with data analysis. May be assigned to data integration and other projects as needed. 

EDUCATION:
 

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related fields preferred. 


 

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
 

• 
  Strong database management and ETL development experience.


• 
  3 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Solutions (SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, T-SQL and SSIS) required.


• 
  Proven experience developing, architecting, and deploying data repositories, marts or warehouses.


• 
  Experience with one or more scripting programming languages (PowerShell and JavaScript preferred.)


• 
  Experience writing complex queries and presenting results to non-technical audiences.


• 
  Experience eliciting requirements from users and documenting the scope, purpose and specifications for requested reports, extracts, and dashboards.  


• 
  Experience with reporting platforms such as Business Objects Crystal Reports Server


• 
  Knowledge of BIRT technology platform helpful.


• 
  At least 2 years’ experience working with healthcare data is strongly preferred.


• 
  Experience with dashboards a plus


• 
  Experience with analytic and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Qlikview is a plus.


• 
  Experience with SharePoint development helpful
