Duties
- Supervise children during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal, ensuring safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood education, creativity, and physical activity
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
- Assist with homework support, tutoring, or enrichment activities tailored to individual student needs
- Coordinate with parents and school staff to ensure smooth transitions and communicate progress or concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Administer basic first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health issues
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster respectful, inclusive environments
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, camp, or tutoring settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire
- Experience with special education needs or behavior management strategies is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues
- Background in childcare, babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or Christian counseling enhances your ability to connect with diverse groups of children
