Experienced Fire Sprinkler Installer - L.A.

SUMMARY:

The Experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter is a highly skilled position. Having a positive attitude, good attendance, hard-working work ethic, and the desire to grow are vital to the success of this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working knowledge of all construction documents and fire sprinkler installation plans
• Have a working knowledge of some or all of the following documents: NFPA 13D, 13R, and 13
• Have a professional attitude and appearance
• Ability to interface with customers and superintendents in a professional manner
• Motivated and a self-starter
• Problem solver
• Able to work independently
• Ability to give and follow directions
• Have a working knowledge of steel piping and/or CPVC (both are preferred but not required)
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds
• Have a current Cal Fire sprinkler fitter card
• A clean driving record is a plus.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Blazemaster, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.

• This job requires that you can read, write, and speak English. It is necessary to have the ability to comprehend instructions, write correspondence, and read lists and reports.
• This job requires the use of Paycom, Outlook, and BuilderTrend. It also requires basic knowledge of mobile devices for communication.
• Basic math skills are a necessity. The ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in unstandardized situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires standing, walking, and sitting; using hands and arms to reach, climb, and balance; stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing; lifting up to 100 lbs.; and having clear color vision.

1. Standing: Remains in a standing position to perform various job functions
2. Climbing: ascending and descending ladders and the like
3. Crouching: Bending the body downward or forward by bending the leg and spine
4. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands
5. Lifting: Raises or lowers tools and piping
6. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction
7. Vision: visual acuity to be thorough and accurate in the work assigned
8. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist
9. Talking: Communicating by phone and in person
10. Walking and moving about on foot

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position may expose you to wet or humid conditions, working near mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, and the risk of electric shock. Noise levels can vary from low to very loud.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:

This job does not usually require traveling. However, if a personal vehicle is needed for company use during the workday, a mileage reimbursement expense form must be submitted. Out of town work is rare, but could be necessary on occasion.

Salary : $30 - $50
