Sumter Plant Manager
Description:
Sylvamo’s Sheet Plant in Sumter, South Carolina currently has an opening for a Plant Manager. This facility converts rolls of paper and packages them for end-use customers. The Plant Manager is responsible for providing leadership to 130 team members and
managing resources to maximize safety, quality, cost, productivity and earnings.
Plant Manager creates a vision for the facility that aligns with the business and
corporate vision, and sets direction for goals and objective and establishes and maintains positive relationships with Customers and Sales team members. Sylvamo has approved a large capital investment at the Sumter Sheet Plant, which includes adding a 13 pocket sheeter and expanding warehousing. The Sumter Plant Manager is a member of the Eastover Mill Lead Team and reports to the Eastover Mill Manager.

Key Accountabilities:
- Sustain safe work processes to prevent injuries at the plant
- Establish an operating environment that embraces
with particular focus applied to plant goals and scorecard measures
- Reliable operation of sheeters and all operating processes
- Ensure production equipment is maintained and upgraded to remain
- Directly support, respond and enhance key strategic customer
- Ensure that all federal, state and local regulations are followed
- Support and contribute to the professional development of all facility
- Maintain constant communication with facility lead team through daily
- Generate input on new equipment purchases for the plant as well as any
- Provide accurate process performance measures to facility leadership
which is reported periodical to division leadership
- Developing a multi-skilled workforce that embraces change.
- High School Diploma/GED plus at least one year of accredited post high school education in management, engineering, or related field preferred
- 6-9 years of experience as manufacturing manager
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and be able to work under
- Experience leading and sustaining safety processes
- Experience leading and sustaining reliable operations
- Knowledge of inventory management
- Knowledge of printing and paper manufacturing
- Knowledge of, and experience complying with, local and corporate policies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Demonstrated people development ability
- Team and goal oriented
- Analytical problem solver
- Flexible hours/available to work extended hours and respond on short notice
- High level of Business Acumen
