Mechanical Designer / CAD Designer
Location: On-site – Batavia, Illinois
Schedule: Contract, Monday–Friday (40 Hours/Week)
Department: Accelerator Physics & Superconducting Technology Division (APS-TD) – Fermilab
Fermilab is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support the APS-TD Design/Drafting Group. The Designer will prepare advanced 3D models, mechanical layouts, tolerance stack-up calculations, and detailed 2D drawings using NX1980 and Teamcenter while applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams to develop design solutions, select materials and components, and supporting multiple accelerator and superconducting technology projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of design experience, proficiency in NX1980 CAD, and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
Required:
- Must be able to demonstrate acceptable proficiency in NX1980 CAD via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal.
- A minimum of a 5 years of experience as Designer.
- Ability to deliver a quality work product to deadline-driven projects.
This is a 12-month contract with potential long-term opportunity.
