ABOUT US
Family Medical Supply is a locally owned durable medical equipment provider serving patients across north Arkansas. We deliver, set up, and service the equipment people rely on to stay safe and independent at home. Our team is part of a larger family of healthcare companies, and we take pride in showing up on time, treating patients with respect, and getting the details right.

POSITION SUMMARY
The DME Technician delivers, sets up, services, and retrieves durable medical equipment in patient homes, facilities, and clinics. This role combines hands-on technical work with accurate documentation in our Brightree platform — every delivery, pickup, and service call must be recorded correctly to keep patients supplied and claims clean. If you like being on the road, working with your hands, and helping people, this is a good fit.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Delivery & Setup
  • Deliver, assemble, and set up equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, patient lifts, bedside commodes, oxygen concentrators, CPAP/BiPAP units, nebulizers, and bathroom safety equipment

  • Instruct patients and caregivers on safe operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting; confirm understanding before leaving the home

  • Complete equipment safety checks prior to and at the time of delivery

  • Retrieve, clean, disinfect, and inspect returned equipment per infection control procedures

Brightree Documentation
  • Work assigned delivery routes and sales orders directly from Brightree

  • Capture and upload signed Proof of Delivery (POD), delivery tickets, and patient signatures at point of service

  • Confirm serial/lot numbers, asset tracking, and quantities in Brightree so inventory stays accurate

  • Verify that required documentation (Standard Written Order, insurance authorization, patient setup forms) is attached and complete before delivery

  • Flag missing or expiring documentation to the intake and billing teams

  • Log service calls, exchanges, pickups, and resupply activity same-day

Service & Maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and functional testing on equipment

  • Respond to service calls and equipment failures, including after-hours calls during on-call rotation

  • Maintain the delivery vehicle: cleanliness, fuel, mileage logs, and reporting of maintenance needs

Compliance & Safety
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, FDA, and accreditation standards at all times

  • Handle and transport oxygen and compressed gas cylinders safely and in accordance with DOT requirements

  • Adhere to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer documentation requirements

  • Represent the company professionally in patient homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician offices

WHAT YOU NEED

Required
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

  • Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet, and computer for daily documentation

  • Strong communication skills and patience when teaching patients and family members

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred
  • 1 years of experience as a DME/HME technician, delivery technician, or in a related healthcare service role

  • Hands-on experience with Brightree (or a comparable DME platform such as Bonafide or TIMS)

  • Working knowledge of HCPCS codes, Standard Written Orders, and payer documentation requirements

  • Experience with oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and respiratory equipment setups

  • CPR certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs; occasionally more with assistance or equipment

  • Regularly bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and maneuver equipment in tight residential spaces

  • Drive for extended periods across a multi-county service area

  • Work in varied home environments and weather conditions

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive hourly pay with overtime opportunity

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

  • Company vehicle and fuel provided for deliveries

  • Paid training, including Brightree system training

  • On-call pay differential

  • Stable, locally owned company with room to advance
